Bringing Good Coffee to Japan’s Frontlines By Retired Fire Captain Miguel A. Ferrer

My recent trip to Japan was more than a visit—it was a mission. As a retired fire captain and federal USAR instructor, I had the honor of connecting with Japan’s elite Spec/Ops Fire Station, The “Super Rangers” and Coast Guard. The highlight? Sharing the Search Grounds Cuban Coffee Kit with the heroes on the other side of the world.

This wasn’t just a handoff—it was a field test. We brewed strong cafecito in the heart of Tokyo, proving that our rugged, all-in-one kit delivers comfort and connection when it matters most. I left behind a kit and a brick of Search Grounds Brew as a gift to a former MTT student—now a respected USAR doctor—who helped make the trip possible.

In disasters or downtime, coffee builds bonds. The Search Grounds Coffee Kit is built for deployment, designed for those who go where comfort usually can’t follow.

From Miami to Tokyo—good coffee goes where we go.
