Using the 500W Hotplate in Your Search Grounds Cuban Coffee Kit

Moka Pot And Hot Plate

The 500W, 110V hotplate included in your Search Grounds Cuban Coffee Kit is built for reliable brewing wherever you’re stationed—on deployment, in training, or off-grid. It’s compact, efficient, and made to power your cafecito ritual when traditional setups aren’t available.

⚙️ How to Use It

  1. Power Up
Plug into a 110V outlet, generator, or inverter (rated 500W or higher).

  2. Brew Your Coffee
Place your moka pot on the hotplate. Turn the dial to high. Brewing takes about 6–7 minutes.

  3. Safety First
Never leave the hotplate unattended. Let it cool fully before storing, and wipe clean after each use.
Never submerge the unit in water.

⚠️ First-Time Use: What’s That Smell?

Don’t worry if you notice a faint chemical or plastic smell during your first couple of uses. This is normal, caused by factory oils and protective coatings burning off the heating element.

🔁 What to Do:

  • Run the hotplate once without the moka pot to help burn off residue.

  • Use in a well-ventilated area for the first few runs.

  • The smell will fade after 1–2 cycles.

🛠 Pro Tips for Best Results

  • Use on a flat, stable surface for safe brewing.

  • Keep the surface dry and clean before each use.

  • Pair it with your Search Grounds mixing bowl for that perfect froth-and-sugar blend.

🔋 Why It’s Essential

  • Low Power Draw – Works with most portable power banks and small inverters.

  • Steady, Controlled Heat – Prevents burning, under-extraction, or uneven brewing.

  • Built for the Field – Compact, durable, and lightweight for easy transport.

Wherever you’re deployed, this hotplate ensures a strong, authentic Cuban coffee—anytime, anywhere.
